With Conflict Catcher 3, we have worked very hard to bring you the very latest in Startup File management and conflict identification.
This demo will work for three days. After three days have passed, Conflict Catcher 3 will no longer load and be available to manage your startup files. Conflict Catcher 3 requires System 7 or later.
Please read the "Demo Installation Guide" file for direction on installing Conflict Catcher 3.
- System 7.5
Conflict Catcher is fully compatible with System 7.5 and the System 7.5 Update 1.0 (System 7.5.1).
- Apple's Extension Manager
Conflict Catcher 3 will automatically disable Extension Manager and recognize the enabled and disabled startup files.
- Conflict Catcher II
Conflict Catcher 3 will automatically replace Conflict Catcher II, recognize the enabled and disabled startup files, and convert all your Conflict Catcher II preferences.
- Now Startup Manager
Conflict Catcher 3 will automatically disable Now Startup Manager and recognize the enabled and disabled startup files. If you have created any sets or links, or have modified the order in which your startup files load, you should follow the following instructions; Open up Now Startup Manager and write down your sets, links, and the order in which your startup files load. Then install Conflict Catcher 3 and re-recreate your sets, links, and Startup File load order.
Conflict Catcher 3 supports Balloon help and has its own help system. We recommend that you use both when exploring the various features. It is also a good idea to walk through the preferences and try things that sound interesting.
Here are some features you don't want to overlook:
At startup time you can direct Conflict Catcher to restart, shutdown, pause, or stop loading startup files. Here are the keys to hold down at startup time (after Conflict Catcher has loaded):
Command-R Restarts the computer
Command-S Shuts down the computer
Command-P Pauses the startup process
Command-period Stops loading startup files and proceeds directly to the Finder
Here are some late breaking issues:
- RAM Doubler
When running Conflict Tests, we recommend that you lock on the RAM Doubler extension to ensure that Conflict Tests work properly.
